Planning & scripting a project

Putting your words into our mouths

'Effective communication is 20% what you know and 80% how you feel about what you know'  Jim Rohn

We put your requirements first

You know your business better than we do - and when you're planning a project that requires a voiceover then we rely on you and your knowledge of your organisation to give us the information you need to share with your clients; so in the early stages, the more details you share with us about who your target audience is, what you're trying to achieve by creating the project and what outcome you expect, then the more we will be able to create a voiceover that help you to achieve those aims.

Words are what draw people in and help to sell your product or project to the listener.  From the viewpoint of the voice actor, the words are the raw material - the ingredients if you like - that enable us to produce a recording that meets your expectations. Words are the backbone of the project and if the sentences and phrases are confusing or poorly constructed, if the message is not clear, then that makes our job much more difficult. We discuss your ideas with you and your team, help you to develop your script and to bring your ideas to life helping to ensure that you reach your customers in the most effective way

Writing a script for a voiceover is quite different from writing a marketing message or advertising copy.  The text needs to get your message across clearly of course, but in a way that engages the listener, that draws them in and keeps them interested, especially if the subject is complex or technical.  This isn't always an easy task, but we're here to help and can perhaps offer a few suggestions to bring everything together and bring the project to life.

Almost all projects have a limited running time - too many words can only have one outcome - a rushed read. Reading your script aloud and timing it with a stopwatch before sending it to us can save a lot of re-writing and editing. If you struggle to fit all the words into the given time while  making sense of them, then the chances are that we will also find it difficult. Rushing a read can be counterproductive because however familiar you may be with the subject matter, most people will be listening for the first time, so you need to give them time to absorb and understand the information.

We know what an important element the words are to the quality of the end product and how difficult it can be to get them perfect.

W
e offer a full script writing service to our clients - all you need to do is provide us with the information you want to get across, details of your target audience, what you want to acheve by the campaign and any pictures, video or photographs that link to the project and we will write a  a script for you based on that information. If this service is required, please let us know so that we can include scripting in your project quote.
